WASHINGTON — Popular British YouTubers Dan and Phil have confirmed they've been in a romantic relationship together since they first began making videos together in 2009.

In a 47-minute video described as tackling "one of the biggest conspiracies in the history of the internet," the duo publicly brought closure to a decade's worth of fan speculation and theory about "Phan."

"We fell into it hard and fast in 2009, and here we are almost 16 years later," Dan Howell said in the video , telling followers they "can't live in fear anymore."

"And no, it's not always perfect. Don't get into your head that we are the ideal of human partnerships," Phil Lester added.

"We have had ups and downs. Like anybody, if you are a mess, we are a mess," Dan described.
