VANCOUVER - Canadian international Dilon Heyliger left his mark at the inaugural Canada Super 60 cricket tournament at B.C. Place Stadium.
Heyliger took four wickets at the cost of just nine runs to lead the Brampton Blitz to an eight-wicket win over Montreal Royal Tigers in Monday’s championship game. The 35-year-old finished as the tournament’s top wicket-taker, claiming 13 in seven matches at an average cost of 11.76 runs.
The competition featured six men’s and two women’s teams drawn from international and domestic talent.
Super 60 matches last about 90 minutes with each team batting for 10 overs (60 balls), making for all-action contests with batters swinging for the boundary in search of runs. In contrast, the Global T20 Canada tournament, which debuted in Brampton, Ont., in 2018,
