Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday urged the Central Government to set up a permanent centre in Mumbai for the development of India’s maritime sector.
Speaking at a review meeting on preparations for India Maritime Week 2025, which will be held at NESCO Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, from October 27 to 31, Fadnavis said the initiative would not only boost Maharashtra’s development globally but also establish India Maritime Week as a world-class maritime platform.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event on one of the days. The event will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on October 27.
