Dallin Harris Oaks, a staunch defender of religious liberty and a devoted advocate of man-woman marriage, is expected to be announced Tuesday afternoon as the 18th president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The 93-year-old former Utah Supreme Court justice’s two counselors in the global faith’s governing First Presidency also will be named in the worldwide announcement at 1 p.m. Mountain time.
