MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Mayor Lee Harris will hold a press briefing Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Memphis Safe Task Force arrests since the start of its third week of enforcement.

It will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday morning, Governor Bill Lee also held a briefing discussing the number of arrests and illegal weapons confiscated by the task force in conjunction with the Memphis Police Department and said that the numbers "are very encouraging."

Gov. Lee says there have been 850 violent criminals and known gang members arrested, 175 illegal firearms have been seized, and 44 missing children have been found and returned to safety so far in Memphis.
