HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond International Airport is among the airports across the country not showing a video of Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem blaming Democrats for the federal government shutdown.
In the video, Noem says, in part, “Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government and because of this, many of our operations are impacted, and most of our TSA employees are working without pay.”
An RIC spokesperson says it is not airing it due to a variety of local, state and federal concerns.
Several other airports in the U.S. say the video violates the Hatch Act, which prohibits political activities of federal employees to ensure government programs are administered in a nonpartisan fashion.
