SAGINAW, MI — A Saginaw man has received jail time and probation for viciously beating a dementia-afflicted man he was supposed to care for.

Saginaw County Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson on Monday, Oct. 13, sentenced 69-year-old Steven J. Reinert to one year in the county jail with credit for 159 days already served. Upon Reinert’s release, he is to be on probation for an additional two years.
