A group of gun-rights advocates in Massachusetts is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate the Boston Police Department over a backlog of applications from residents seeking to carry firearms.

Gun Owners’ Action League and Commonwealth Second Amendment drafted a letter to that effect last week, after the DOJ said it was looking for situations around the country where there are delays in obtaining gun carry permits.
