The latest Frankenstein adaptation, which was filmed here in Edinburgh, premiered at the London Film Festival on Monday - and has already been hailed as 'glorious'.

Filming for the movie saw production head to Edinburgh and the Lothians last September, with sets taking over the Royal Mile and other spots across the area including Gosford House in East Lothian . Frankenstein is set to hit cinemas on October 17 for a 'limited release' before landing on Netflix on November 7.

Director Guillermo Del Toro brought in Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac and other big names for the gothic tale. Reviews for the movie have said it has a 'huge beating heart', and described it as a 'lavish treat'.
