President Donald Trump will honor influential conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Tuesday with a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor the White House can bestow on a civilian.

The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT. Watch in the player above.

Kirk, who would have turned 32 on Oct. 14, was shot and killed last month by a gunman at Utah Valley University. As the founder of Turning Point USA, he became a significant figure in right-wing politics, particularly through his appearances and organizing on college campuses and outreach to young people.

At a public memorial service in Glendale, Arizona , Trump called Kirk a “martyr” for America’s freedom and vowed that history would not forget him.
