KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A Kansas City man is charged with first-degree murder months after the district attorney said he shot and killed another person in Kansas City, Kan.

U.S. Marshals arrested Rene Najera, 25, on Oct. 6.

Najera is charged with shooting and killing 18-year-old Anderson Murcia-Cartagena . He died in April from injuries he suffered in the shooting near S. 16th Street and Ridge Avenue the month before.

Najera is also charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault in the deadly shooting.

Najera is held in the Wyandotte County jail on a $150,000 bond.
