Nearly all Canadians support the federal government expanding access to clinical trials for cancer patients, according to new data released by the Angus Reid Institute in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society.

The national survey, published October 14, 2025, found nine in ten Canadians favour increasing access to clinical trials, which many see as a way to reach new or experimental treatments unavailable through standard care. Four in five respondents (80%) agreed that trials can offer new medicines that may provide hope for patients who have run out of options.
