Colombo, Oct 14 (UNI) The 15th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 between Sri Lanka Women and New Zealand Women at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo ended with no result due to rain.

The hosts, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted 258 for 6 in their allotted 50 overs.

Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 53 off 72 balls, while Vishmi Gunaratne contributed 42 runs. Harshitha Samarawickrama made a brisk 26, and Nilakshi de Silva remained unbeaten on 55.

Despite contributions from the middle order, the match could not proceed further owing to persistent rain.

Both the teams shared points, with Sri Lanka moving to two points and New Zealand to three. Both skippers shook hands in a truce. This is the second no-result of the tournament, and both have occurred in Colombo. The
