The more things change, the more they stay the same. While that may not be completely true in fantasy football, it does describe the state of the quarterback position in the NFL this season.

Patrick Mahomes was once a fantasy cheat code, throwing for 50 touchdowns in 2018, his first season as a starter. Since then – and especially over the past two years – Mahomes' numbers have fallen from the elite tier to merely good. But things have spiked back up in 2025.

Accounting for 10 total touchdowns in his last three games, Mahomes, 30, is back on top of the fantasy rankings and is playing virtually mistake-free football. He has another excellent matchup this week as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders.
