It comes as the industry continues to try to improve domestic demand for goatmeat, but breeders say it will be an uphill battle without better quality control.
MeatCo Australia livestock manager Rocky Capisciolto said the Broken Hill depot had about 125,000 goats pass through each year from a 300-kilometre radius.
The depot currently accepts goats above 25 kilograms and was paying 220 cents a kilo
