Tulia police: Man accused of exposing himself taken to Amarillo for mental health treatment

TULIA, Texas (KFDA) - Tulia police say a man accused of exposing himself in public has been taken to Amarillo for mental health treatment.

Police say over the past few days, there has been an older man walking around Tulia exposing himself amongst other things.

Officials say they have not been able to catch him in the act, but have been in contact with him.

The first time, officials arranged for him to be taken home to a neighboring county. However, the man found himself back to Tulia.

According to officials, last night, officers were able to determine that the man was in need of mental health services.

The man voluntarily agreed to receive services and was transported to Amarillo.

Police say, while what the man was doing is illegal, sometimes the best course of action is not jail.
