A mother, accused of murdering her own infant, has testified in court that her husband headbutted their newborn and "banged him on the bed" just days after bringing him home from hospital. ‌

Nivalda Santos Pirjani and her partner Klevi are currently standing trial at Liverpool Crown Court, charged with the murder of their 13-week-old son Miguel Pirjani, who tragically passed away last November. ‌

The pair stand accused of " systematically abusing " their baby prior to his death, following the discovery of multiple broken bones and a brain haemorrhage. Both vehemently deny this charge, although the mother has confessed to causing or allowing the death of a child. ‌

Nivalda Pirjani began her testimony before a jury of six men and six women this afternoon, Tuesday.
