A woman has been banned from a town square in North Yorkshire after alcohol-fuelled attacks on police and locals.

Sadie Lauren Metcalf, 31, currently of no fixed abode, was issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour in Scarborough.

The order was applied for while she appeared before Scarborough magistrates for three shop thefts, two public order incidents, a breach of a previous CBO and an assault.

North Yorkshire Police said Metcalf came to the force’s attention in summer last year ‘due to her persistent anti-social behaviour and criminal conduct.’ Metcalf’s behaviour included shouting, swearing and intimidating passers-by in addition to verbal abuse.
