A year after the government assumed office, voters in the Sonawari constituency say the promises made to them ahead of the 2024 Assembly elections remain unfulfilled, with little change visible on the ground. From bridges that exist only as sketches on files to water that still flows unfiltered from the Jhelum, residents describe lives marked by improvisation, fear, and ongoing struggles.

In Nesbal and nearby areas, the absence of the promised bridge over the Jhelum has forced villagers, including schoolchildren, to cross the river on wooden boats tied to ropes.
