ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Three teens, ages 14 and 16, who stole a car in the early morning hours on Tuesday have been arrested, Rockford Police said.

Authorities said officers in the area of Charles Street and Longwood spotted a vehicle reported as stolen around 1:40 a.m.

The officers followed the car until it turned and stopped in the 1000 block of Chamberlain Street, where three teen offenders got out and ran.

Police were able to capture all three suspects, and in the process, found a handheld stun gun/taser that was collected as evidence.

Two 14-year-old males were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. A 16-year-old male was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle and resisting arrest.

All three offenders were booked
