A hiker has been rescued after he became stranded off-trail during a severe snowstorm, authorities in Utah said.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue said in a release that their agency was summoned just after 7 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 11, to help a hiker who was stuck on the South Ridge of Mt. Superior in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
