TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) - Three people faced a judge in the case of a murdered 12-year-old girl.

Karla Garcia and Jackelyn Garcia, the mother and aunt of the girl, appeared in Litchfield County Superior Court in Torrington on Tuesday in connection to the murder of Jacqueline Torres.

A third suspect, Jonatan Nanita, whom police said was Karla Garcia’s boyfriend, was also arrested in the case. He too faced a judge in Torrington.

Farmington police said Nanita was picked up in Waterbury on Monday night and transferred into their custody.

Nanita appeared in court on Tuesday with a black eye and fresh cuts on his face.

“You can already see the guy’s face is messed up. I’m sure where he’s going, there’s going to be justice before court deals with justice, and they deserve it,” said Justin Luet
