The Caddo-Midway Fire and Rescue District in Trinity is celebrating the opening of a storm shelter for first responders.
The facility is designed to keep volunteer firefighters and emergency personnel safe during disasters. It will also serve as a critical staging and protection space during severe weather events.
“When severe weather strikes, our volunteers don’t get to stay home — they come out to protect others,” said Darwin Clark, district administrator. “This shelter gives them a safe place to operate so they can continue responding to emergencies without putting their own lives at unnecessary risk.”
The shelter will enable crews to coordinate responses, ensuring faster, safer operations.
The fire district will hold a dedication ceremony at the Caddo-Midway Fire Department on Octo
