TRAVERSE CITY — The City of Traverse City is conducting annual maintenance at its Wastewater Treatment Plant, with work expected to conclude by Oct. 24.

The project includes cleaning and inspection of the facility’s aeration basins along with other routine maintenance activities essential to keeping the plant operating safely and efficiently.

During the maintenance period, residents and businesses in the surrounding area may notice temporary increases in odor.

City officials said the work is necessary to maintain the long-term reliability and environmental performance of the plant and thanked the community for its patience during the project.
