LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A second suspect facing charges for hitting and killing a cyclist in 2023 has entered a guilty plea and will now avoid a jury trial.
According to court documents, Jzamir Keys submitted a guilty plea agreement to one count of second-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon and one count of battery with a deadly weapon.
Court documents said Keys was charged with several other felony charges, which will be dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
As a result of the plea, Keys will face 18 years to life in prison with the chance of parole.
Jesus Ayala and Keys are accused of killing retired California police chief Andreas Probst by hitting him with a vehicle while he was cycling and recording the incident. Ayala and Keys were 16 and 17 at the time of the crash
