On what would have been his 32nd birthday, slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk today will be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, by President Donald Trump , according to multiple reports.

Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah man, has been charged with murder .

Trump announced on Sept. 11, the day after Kirk’s death, that the medal would be awarded. The ceremony will be at 4 p.m., according to the New York Times .
