SOUTH GATE – A 36-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of stabbing a man on a passenger bus in South Gate on Saturday.
Edgar Espinoza was arrested by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Services Special Assignment Unit at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Irwindale passenger station.
He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held without bail in connection with the stabbing that occurred at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the sheriff’s department.
“The victim was transported by the Los Angeles County Fire Department to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition,” department officials said in a news release.
