ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Chronic kidney disease is growing at an alarming rate, and often, people have no idea they’re living with it. For that reason, it’s dubbed “the chronic killer.”

Recent data from the American Kidney Fund shows that the disease affects 14% of American adults, and people of color are at higher risk.

It’s a disturbing reality for the brother of Atlanta News First reporter Bridget Spencer, who spoke about his more than two-decade journey.
