Both men’s and women’s hockey are coming to the University of St. Joseph in 2026.
We spoke with Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun, who coached both at the University of Connecticut and the University of St. Joseph.

Despite the teams being Division III, he said the student-athletes will leave it all on the ice.
“Kids want to win. I don’t care if they are Kemba or Ray Allen," Calhoun said. "They want to win just like kids at UConn do.”
Back in 2018, the University of St. Joseph's became co-ed and added basketball to their athletics program.
In big part thanks to Calhoun, who led the team to a 47-17 record before stepping down in his fourth season and stayed on in an advisor role.
