FAIRLEE, Vt. (WCAX) - A second mural is now on display on an Interstate 91 underpass in Fairlee. It’s an extension of public art that went up last fall to help connect the community.

There is now a permanent reminder of the changing of the seasons in Fairlee on an underpass that is usually void of color.

The “Green Man” under Exit 15 off Interstate 91 feels right at home in the Green Mountain State.

On the north side of the underpass, “Snow Sister” braces for the region’s long, cold winter ahead.

The artwork, by Middlebury artist Matt Heywood, was five years in the making.

“Heading north, you would see the ‘Snow Sister’ winter. Heading south, you see the ‘Green Man,’” said Miranda Clemson, a project volunteer.

Volunteers with Fairlee Community Arts helped apply colors and patterns.
