Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Syracuse men’s basketball team was picked to finish ninth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the league’s preseason poll.
The voting was performed by 49 media members in what the league dubbed a select media panel.
Duke was picked to finish first, while Louisville was voted to finish second. Those were the only teams to receive first-place votes. Duke earned 34, while Louisville received 13.
Duke received 877 points in the poll. Syracuse was part of a cluster of teams between 7 and 10 that were separated by just 33 points.
Syracuse finished last season in 14th place with a league record of 7-13 and an overall record of 14-19.
