A film industry event, a politically minded puppet circus and an opera are all among the happenings this weekend – starting Friday – in central Oklahoma.

First, an opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and actors to shine and connect with Pitchfest+ on Friday, October 17, in Guthrie : Dust of your movie idea or film resume for the event hosted by The Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance.

Pitchfest+ will feature visiting film executives, writers, producers and other creatives who are in Oklahoma speaking, mentoring and looking to discover Oklahoma’s breakout media stars, as a news release from the Oklahoma Film + Music Office stated.

More than 110 people have already signed up for this unique event from 9 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Meridian Technology Center, 3025 S Division in Guthrie.
