DOTHAN, Ala, (WDHN) -- A Dothan man is dead after a motorcycle crash near Abbeville.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say 54-year-old Joseph Leedom Lewis IV was riding his 2006 Honda motorcycle down County Road 57, near Abbeville, when he ran off the road on Thursday, October 2.

Lewis IV was thrown from his motorcycle and critically injured. He was transported to Southeast Health in Dothan.

On Friday, October 10, Lewis IV died in the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the ALEA Highway Patrol Division.
