Hairstylists in Tennessee have about two months left to become certified in identifying the signs of domestic violence.
The law was passed four years ago but some stylists are still not certified.

Under the law, beauty professionals in Tennessee must complete up to an hour of training on how to recognize and respond to signs of domestic violence.
"We carry that responsibility of if we see something or hear someone say something, to kind of carry that over and look out for people," says Katherine McDonald, a stylist with Lift Hair Co.
In 2021, the state of Tennessee General Assembly passed a law requiring all state licensed beauty professionals to get a certification in recognizing the signs of d
