NORTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Good news for North Carolina drivers...renewing your license just got easier.

Thanks to a new law signed by Governor Josh Stein, the North Carolina DMV now allows eligible drivers without a REAL ID to renew their license online two times in a row.

Until now, that second renewal required a visit to the DMV. REAL ID holders will also soon be able to renew online for a second time if they’ve had a new photo taken during an in-person visit since their last renewal. Officials said this should be available in the next few weeks.
