PORTSMOUTH — Jude Blake, chairperson of The Music Hall ’s trustees, vowed to “regain the trust of our community” in an Oct. 14 apology after the theater was criticized for cancelling a Joan G. Lovering Health Center fundraiser.
The Music Hall has received negative feedback from the community for calling off the event that was planned to feature "No One Asked You," a documentary about abortion rights activists. It was called off six days prior to the event, which was moved to a new venue.
“As a nearly 40-year institution devoted to the arts, our mission is clear: to nurture healthy communities, lifelong learning and shared experiences,” Blake said in the prepared statement. “We are constantly striving to uphold this mission and do so in hosting more than 700 events every year. O
