Attendees rally in support of public education during teachers’ strike

As the teachers’ strike continues, dozens of people joined a “Walk for Public Education” in Whitecourt on Tuesday morning to show their support for the public school system. Article content

Katrina Zack, Northern Gateway Local 43 president, said the walk was a joint effort of Catholic teachers in Whitecourt, Edson and Slave Lake and Northern Gateway Public Schools teachers. Article content

“The Walk for Public Education is to make people aware of … the issues facing teachers and their classrooms,” Zack told the Whitecourt Star .
