A 20-year-old Detroit woman was charged after allegedly crashing her SUV into a Center Line residence and seriously injuring a 9-year-old girl who was sleeping in her bedroom inside the home.
Caris Adell Wade, 20, was arraigned in Center Line 37th District Court on Oct. 14 where she was charged with reckless driving causing serious impairement of a body fuction, a 5-year felony, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in serious impairment or death, also a 5-year felony.
Judge Michael Chupa set a cash/surety bond at $200,000. If released, Wade must wear a GPS tether.
Additional charges may be brought against Wade pending the results of a toxicology report to determine if Wade was under the influence at the time of the crash.
