A 42-year-old man from the United Kingdom was arrested on Monday afternoon in Quebec City in connection with the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl from England. The arrest followed a search conducted by Quebec City police near Montmorency Falls, initiated at the request of West Midlands police in Birmingham, England.
During the search, police located the missing teenager in the area, where she was found with the suspect. According to a statement from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ), the girl is reported to be in good physical health.
The suspect was being interviewed by investigators on Tuesday morning and was expected to appear in court later that day to face multiple charges. The investigation involved collaboration among several agencies, including West Midlands Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canada Border Services Agency, and the Sûreté du Québec.
