In just a few months Air Canada is flying out of North Bay for keeps and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the airline only has itself to blame. Fedeli addressed the Air Canada question at a public event last Friday.

“Personally, I’m disappointed in Air Canada,” says Fedeli. In 1939, Air Canada, then called Trans-Canada Airlines, touched down in North Bay. Up until Covid-19 (2020), they have been here non-stop. They have gone from four flights a day, in November they will go to four flights a week, and then leave at the end of January.

The City of North Bay has provided Jack Garland Airport with some emergency funding , and Fedeli says alternatives are in the hopper.
