A body has been located in the Santa Ana River on Tuesday amid the rain and flooding affecting the Southland.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the body was found in swift waters near where MacArthur Boulevard crosses the river in Fountain Valley at about noon.

The body has not yet been retrieved due to weather conditions, as doing so would put fire crews in danger, the OCFA said.

Both the OCFA and the Orange County Sheriff's Department decided to wait, and the body will be recovered at a later time.

Nidia Becerra contributed to this report.
