JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - In Jackson, Missouri on Tuesday, the fire department celebrated the grand reopening of Station Number 1.
Originally built in 1982, the newly remodeled facility has new sleeping quarters, a gym and safety features.
We spoke with Captain Michael Gentry, who shared what this means for Jackson.
“This is a great thing for the city and for our members. We have 19 firemen who work in our facilities, and we have two stations, but Station 1 got remodeled and we’re excited for it,” he said. “A lot of safety feature updates, a lot of new technology for us which we did not have before.”
The fire department will hold its Community Safety Day on October 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
