SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) – National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 25, and various locations in Schuyler County are holding drug takeback events to help residents get rid of their expired, unused or unwanted medications in their home.

The drug takeback events will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Odessa Fire Department, the Tyrone Fire Department and the Walmart in Watkins Glen. During this time, Schuyler County Public Health will accept any unused medications and tobacco products.

Items that won't be accepted at the event include needles, vapes and e-cigarette devices. Those who are unable to make it on this day may visit the Schuyler County website to find a drop box location to dispose of their unused medications at another time.
