A faculty body at Vanderbilt University has called on the private university to reject a recent White House memo that promises federal funding “advantages” to select schools for aligning with Trump administration goals.

Vanderbilt's Faculty Senate, the school's chapter of the American Association of University Professors, voted on the resolution on Oct. 8 opposing the "Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education," which was sent to the school on Oct. 1, according to White House officials.
