DeSOTO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - Newly released video footage shows DeSoto Parish deputies beating a naked man during his intake process at the parish jail in 2019, raising serious questions about use of force policies and transparency in law enforcement.

The disturbing footage shows Jarius Brown being forced to strip naked during his booking process before deputies cornered and repeatedly punched him while he was defenseless and unclothed.

“Unbelievable. I just, I mean, it was just unbelievable what I saw, unbelievable,” said Riley Young, a Louisiana State University Shreveport professor and former law enforcement officer who reviewed the footage for KSLA.
