NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A new pizzeria in New Haven is poised to bring “Detroit-ish” style pizza to the city.

Yale University Properties announced that Bobbi’s, a new restaurant at 51 Broadway, will officially open its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Thursday at 1 p.m.

The event will include appearances by owner Ankit Chellani, Executive Chef and Business Partner Bryan Burke and New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker.

Detroit-style pizza was once considered a regional dish but is now growing in popularity across the country. The new restaurant aims to widen local offerings with a sense of adventure and creativity.
