INDIANAPOLIS — During Tuesday's “Fairness for Hoosiers” event, White House border czar Tom Homan also backed an immigration bill Republicans plan to reintroduce next year.

In a visit to Indiana , Homan praised the success of President Donald Trump's administration’s immigration crackdown, claiming 550,000 immigrants have been deported since late January. Homan also said border crossings dropped from more than 10,000 daily to less than 100 last Friday.

“We’re going to enforce the law,” he said Tuesday at the Statehouse. “We’re going to send a message to the whole world, it’s not okay to enter this country illegally. It’s a crime.”
