PORTLAND, Maine — Airports across the country are pushing back against a newly released Department of Homeland Security video featuring Secretary Kristi Noem, and some of Maine’s major airports are no exception.
The video, intended to be played at TSA checkpoints, features Noem blaming Democrats in Congress for the ongoing federal government shutdown . In the clip, she says, “Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this most of our TSA employees are working without pay.”
But on Tuesday, monitors at the Portland International Jetport were either turned off or displaying an older, unrelated DHS video.
Jetport officials issued a statement confirming they are not playing the video.
