GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — Major upgrades are planned for a downtown Greenville arena, but questions remain about how the $190 million project will be funded.

Greenville Arena District’s Master Plan outlines renovations designed to keep Bon Secours Wellness Arena competitive for concerts and events.

The blueprint includes a reimagined entryway, expanded concourses, and additional food and drink stations.

Outside on the corner lawn, plans call for a 6,500-seat amphitheater with restaurants and retail space.

The $190 million price tag breaks down as follows:

Construction estimate: $150 million

Administration and design: $20 million

Owner contingency for unexpected costs: $17 million

Furniture and equipment: $3 million
