Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd signed a multiyear extension with the club, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Terms weren’t immediately divulged. Kidd made $8.5 million last season.

Kidd is starting his fifth season with the Mavericks. He guided the club to the 2024 NBA Finals before losing to the Boston Celtics and then navigated the team through a tenuous period last season after the controversial in-season trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The New York Knicks were interested in interviewing Kidd for their post following last season but Dallas declined to make him available.

Kidd, 52, is 179-149 during his tenure in Dallas. He is 22-18 in two trips to the postseason with the Mavericks.
